Filomena
Filomena is a crescent shaped scarf that can be made with one or two skeins. It starts with a beaded chain edge, then knit stitches are picked up. Decreases are made every row as you work your way through bands of garter stitch and stockinette which have a series of “lace” flowers with a bead in the center.
Note here: If you do not want to knit the lace flowers, then it is best to use a very similar pattern called Frieda, also free. Frieda has a line of inset beads instead of beads on the edge.
There is a chart for the flower bands as well as a full set of instructions. Once you catch on how to do the decreases, the pattern moves right along.
It is worth it to seek out size 5 triangle beads. Size 6 seed beads can also be used.
Filomena has been sold in recent years by Foxyknits at vendor shows.
This version has complete instructions.
