This cardigan reminds me of shawl-neck sweaters from the 1950s and 1960s. The cozy collar will keep the wearer warm, and the extra long sleeves can be unfolded to keep hands covered (and will also allow the sweater to fit for a few extra months). It is knit seamlessly from the hem to the neck, then the collar is picked up and shaped with short rows.

This pattern is also available in the Quick Baby and Toddler Sweaters Pattern Collection, which also includes the Cocoon Sweater and Organic Hoodie, for $12. All three patterns are knit seamlessly from the bottom up with aran or bulky weight yarns for quickly finished sweaters.
