Flannel Socks
The socks you have been waiting for are here! I know you’re missing our favorite season, so we’ve teamed up to give you the best of both worlds: something you can knit while it’s hot that still hints at the crisp fall days ahead. The Flannel Socks are like a hug from your go-to sweater. (you may recognize the stitch from the Favorite Flannel ;) Classic lines & lush texture ensures they will blend seamlessly into your handmade wardrobe.
The pattern features a reinforced heel for durability and a vintage thermal texture. They are perfect for you if you’re craving a fun project that also gives you options.
You can go for a solid color if you like a classic vibe, or pick some with stripes in your personal palette- there are SO many rich colors to choose from. Either way, these socks are all about keeping your feet comfy and warm as the weather gets cooler. They’re timeless and trustworthy, just like your favorite old flannel shirt.
Les Garcons & Sonder Yarn Co have THE softest BFL/English Masham blends, and they both have incredible colorways ranging from deep & rich to cheerful and bright.
Socks are cast on at the cuffs and worked from the top down seamlessly in the round. The heel is worked as a traditional heel flap & gusset, then the foot of the sock is also worked in the round down to the toes which are grafted closed with Kitchener Stitch.
Two style options are provided for the sock: An allover color with just texture, or the striped version.
Intended to be worn with -1/-2.5 cm negative ease. Adjustable foot length. Sample shown in size B.
Striped Version MC- 160 180, 210 yds/m CC1- 100125, 190 yds/m
Solid version: 260 305, 400 yds/m
4 stitch markers, stitch holder or scrap yarn, darning needle for finishing
Please note that the suggested yarns are non-superwash non-sock yarns. I find that when my heels and toes slightly felt after the initial pill, they have excellent longevity. There is something incredibly cozy about them, too! This is personal preference and subbing a sock yarn is perfectly fine
