This pattern uses both Crochet and Knitting

This design idea has been floating around in my head for a while and holds a sweet spot in my heart. Both my mother and grandmother knit and crochet. My grandmother taught me how to do both. I wanted to create a design that utilized both of these needlecrafts. Creating this wrap felt like a tribute to both of them as I switch from knitting to crocheting throughout the pattern. Fletcher is my grandmothers’ maiden name and this designs namesake. Fletcher was created to accompany an outfit as we move into the warmer months. It is very soft and lightweight thanks to the light worsted spun yarn worked at a loose gauge. The open lace sections allow a warm breeze to flow in yet keep the shoulders and neck cozy.

This wrap is worked in sections, worked flat, back and forth, transitioning from knitting to crocheting. Fletcher begins with a modified on edging broken garter ribbing followed by a soothing garter stitch. After the garter stitch section is complete, you then transition to the crochet section of the wrap. Arcade crochet stitch is used in the wrap to create the open lace sections. The garter and arcade stitch sections are repeated to create the length of the wrap and then finished with a modified on edging broken garter ribbing.
