Flower Faire
The shawl is knit from the center toward one edge from a provisional cast on. The second side is knit after the first is completed by picking up the other side of the cast on chain, and repeating the pattern. The pattern is written for three sizes: narrow scarf wide scarf, stole. The narrow scarf assumes a thick lace weight or fingering weight yarn, while the other sizes assume a finer lace yarn.
Finished sizes: 5 x 72 in. (13 x 183 cm) 12.5 x 62 in. (32 x 157 cm), 22 x 110 in. (50 x 279 cm).
Yarns: The narrow scarf model was knit with the Chameleon Colorworks yarn; the wide scarf and stole were both knit with the JaggerSpun yarn.
Yardage: 250 (500, 1300)
Skills: Lace knitting, provisional cast on (crocheted chain stitch), chart reading.
Other supplies: A length of waste yarn is needed for the cast on. Lifelines and stitch markers are optional.
Stitch patterns: Charted.
Additional info: The red scarf is the medium, or wide scarf, in the instructions, and was knit with Zephyr wool-silk.
