Fool's Gold Throw
This PDF crochet PATTERN gives you easy, step-by-step instructions on how to crochet my beautiful Fool’s Gold Mosaic Crochet Throw. I love this design, it’s based on Middle Eastern tiles and that gorgeous deep gold colour is just wonderful. This is a geometric throw so stylish it will look fabulous anywhere in your home!
Suitable for beginner level upwards, the 9-page pattern includes:
full written row-by-row instructions (UK crochet terms)
pattern notes
stitch abbreviations
special stitch instructions
mosaic crochet chart and instructions
You can either use the Scheepjes Colour Crafter DK yarn listed in the pattern, or any DK yarn you like. I used 4 x balls Yarn A (Verviers 2017) and 4 x balls Yarn B (Burum 1709) to achieve this size. You will also need a 5.5mm (US I/9) crochet hook, and a 65mm pompom maker (optional).
Your finished throw will measure approximately 90 x 120cm/35.5 x 47.3in. The pattern gives full details how to adjust the size to suit you.
Please note: due to the nature of this 2-row inset version of mosaic crochet, short lengths of chain are made on the reverse. See photo of close-up of the reverse side. These can either be left loose or can be covered and incorporated into other stitches to hide them. Full details are given in the pattern.
