Frysa is a set of two wintry colorwork accessories inspired by cold Northern winters, dark nights, and the ethereal glow of the Northern lights. Frysa is Swedish for ’to freeze’… but I hope you won’t freeze in these warm accessories!

Frysa Beanie is a stranded colorwork hat worked in three colors of DK-weight yarn. The hat is knitted from the brim up in the round on a short circular needle.

Worked in rustic DK-weight yarn, these winter accessories are quick to knit and marvelously warm. The colorwork pattern is not challenging since at most two colors are used per row. However, the colorwork does contain some long floats that need to be caught.

The pattern is written with both metric and US terminology. The stranded colorwork pattern is charted only.

• Main color (MC): approx. 75 [100] m / 85 [110] yd in the colorway Harma
• Contrasting color 1 (CC1): approx. 50 [60] m / 55 [65] yd in the colorway Meri
• Contrasting color 2 (CC2): approx. 25 [35] m / 30 [40] yd in the colorway Luumu
• Additional 50–70 m / 55–75 yd of CC2 for the pom pom

Needles

• 3.5 mm / US #4 short circular needle (40 cm / 16”) for ribbing
• 4.0 mm / US #6 short circular needle for stranded knitting (or size needed to obtain gauge)

Frysa on talvinen asustesetti, johon inspiraatio tuli pohjoisen pakkastalvista, tummista öistä ja revontulten hehkusta. Frysa tarkoittaakin ruotsiksi jäätymistä tai paleltumista. Toivottavasti näissä asusteissa ei kuitenkaan tarvitse palella!

Frysa-kirjoneulemyssy neulotaan kolmella värillä DK-vahvuista lankaa. Myssy neulotaan alhaalta ylöspäin pyöröneuleena lyhyellä pyöröpuikolla.

Keskipaksusta langasta neulottavat asusteet tulevat valmiiksi joutuin ja lämmittävät ihanasti. Kirjoneulekuviot eivät ole haastavia, sillä niissä neulotaan vain kahdella langalla kerroksellaan. Kuvioissa on kuitenkin paikoittain pitkähköjä langanjuoksuja.
