Funkia – the Swedish word for the hosta plant – is one of the first signs of spring. Considered a favourite snack of rabbits and deer, you can protect your funkia with a fine mesh.
Funkia is a triangular shawl with increases incorporated in the leaf patterns on a delicate mesh background. It requires 450-700 meters of lace or fingering weight yarn and is adjustable in size. Use needle size that gives you a nice lacy effect. The pattern is charted, wrong side rows are all purls.
Green shawl 120g Lioness Arts BFL Sock in I’ll Never Grow Up 100% Wool, 437yd/400m per 100g on 3.5 mm (US 4) needles.
Blocked size: 145 x 75 cm (57 x 30 inches).
Gauge: 18/12 stitches = 10 cm in mesh pattern.
