This sock pattern was written for double pointed needles and has instructions for three sizes:

  • Small (42 sts)
  • Medium (48 sts)
  • Large (54 sts) sizes

This is a DK weight sock pattern and is the first of a six part set, which will be called the Coorie Collection.

This is a cuff down sock pattern, worked in one piece, from the cuff down to the toe. Casting on requires using a stretchy cast on method. The cuff of the sock is knitted first, before moving onto the leg, the heel, the gusset, then the foot and finally finishing on the toe. Kitchener stitch is used to close the stitches at the toe.

Instructions for this sock are in written and charted format.

This cuff down sock pattern is based on my recipe for knitting socks using a DK weight yarn. This pair of socks is the first of a six part set, which will be called the Coorie Collection.

Coorie is a Scottish word meaning ‘to nestle or snuggle’. Coorie inspires us to appreciate the simple things that we come across in our everyday life. It encourages us to enjoy being outdoors in all kinds of weather and delighting in that cosy feeling that embraces you when you arrive back home.

All the socks in this collection will be named after a flavour of cotton candy and each design will feature a different textured pattern.

I hope that this pattern will help knitters to understand how cuff down socks develop while using DK weight yarn and double pointed needles.
