The original shawl is knitted with handspun yarn with a meterage of about 700 m per 100 g. But the pattern is written for any handspun wool also with varying thickness and any mixture of natural fibers. You can also use any other yarn. I’m sure the shawl will look beautiful with any yarn.

This shawl has the Faroese shape. This means, at the beginning it consists of 4 right-angled triangles with a straight middle part in between. After the shoulders, the two adjacent triangles are joined together. This creates a shoulder shape and the shawl does not end in a point in the middle. It is knitted from the upper middle downwards. It will be finished with a directly knit on sideways border.
In the middlepart the distance between the chevrons is always the same, while in the main part it becomes smaller and smaller.
