The Hartford Buttoned Scarf is a beautiful, lacy scarf featuring a unique construction, extra-long fringe and two trendy button bands to keep it snug and cozy! Made to match my Hartford Slouch Hat pattern, this scarf uses less than one skein of yarn, so it works up much quicker than the average scarf!
This pattern contains helpful, clear photos, a diagram for the first two rows, and easy to follow, detailed instructions.
This is an original design, using US crochet terms. You may not copy, distribute or sell this pattern as your own design, but feel free to sell finished cowls made from this pattern!
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (Requires knowledge of sc and dc).
Gauge: 12 dc = 5” and 4 rows = just over 3”
Size: One size fits most. Scarf measures 33” long (not counting button bands and fringe), 8” wide at wide section, and 4.5” wide at narrow section. Button bands each measure 8” long and 1.25” wide. Fringe measures 7.5” long.
Materials:
-A total of approximately 205-220 yards heavy worsted or Aran weight yarn. Example uses Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Pearl. I used less than one skein (205 yards) for my scarf, but you may find you need a bit extra for the fringe, so it’s best to overestimate the amount you’ll need.
-2 buttons (1.25”)
Tools:
-Hook: Sizes K/10.5 (6.5mm) and H/8 (5mm), or size to obtain correct gauge.
-Yarn needle
-Tape measure
