PATTERN INFORMATION
Heart Cardigan is a seamless, relaxed-fit cardigan featuring heart pattern panels at the back and fronts, and 1x1 rib at the sides. The body is worked bottom up to the underarms, with little shaping, then sleeve stitches are provisionally cast on and the yoke is continued, with raglan decreases and v-neck shaping. The sleeves are worked top down, from the stitches provisionally cast on at the start of yoke, so their length can be easily adjusted.
The pattern is available in a wide range of sizes: from 2 years to adult 2X.

Skills needed
Provisional and tubular or long tail cast-ons, stockinette stitch, increases, decreases, working in the round, picking up stitches, working from a chart.

Needles and notions:

• 5 mm (US #8) and 4.5 mm (US #7) circular needles, 60-100 cm/ 24-40 in long (choose needle length appropriate for body circumference)

• 5 mm (US #8) and 4.5 mm (US #7) needles in preferred style for knitting small circumferences

• 4 mm (US #6) DPNs, for neckband

• spare circular needle, used as holder

• 5 mm crochet hook for provisional CO

• 8 stitch markers, including 4 removable ones (panel markers)

• scrap yarn

• tapestry needle

• 6 (6, 6, 6, 6, 6) (7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7) medium size buttons, approx 18 mm in diameter
