Hearts All Over Pillow
The Hearts All Over pillow uses the overlay mosaic technique. In this method, each round is crocheted with a different color. To create the mosaic pattern, you crochet double crochets into the front loops of the underlying rounds. Since these loops lie on top of the work, this technique is called overlay crochet.
The pillow is crocheted in the round, making it easy to switch colors each round without having a large number of ends to weave in. Step-by-step photos are provided to explain how to do this.
Choose two colors that contrast well, so the pattern stands out clearly.
Want to use this pattern for a blanket? That’s possible too. At the end of the pattern, you’ll find a brief description of how to do that.
The pillow I made fits a 50 x 50 cm pillow insert. The pattern clearly explains how to adjust this to any desired size.
My pillow was crocheted with Hobbii Friends Wool (50g/100m/100% wool) and a 4.5 mm hook. I used 4 balls of each color (4x Lavender/73 and 4x Off White/02), but of course, it can be made with any yarn of your choice.
