Hidden Passages
Inspiration was received from the much beloved, Gothic soap opera, Dark Shadows. The houses of Collinwood are full of hidden passages, secret panels and fun places to play around in. Since Liz was owed a pattern by me, it was natural to look to her pearls, this shawl has a very Elizabeth Collins Stoddard vibe.
The shape of this shawl is a bit different. First we are working a triangle which is then applied to a rectangle,,, like I said, different.
Fans of the show might enjoy seeing a short history of the old house here.
Here you will find the Lyndhurst house which was used in the movie filming. This house is complete with it’s own bowling alley, seriously.
The house used for the soap opera, is known as the Carry Mansion.
And for a bit of fun, see the fictional account here.
