Himalia
Jupiter, the fifth planet from the sun, is the largest planet in our solar system. Dozens of moons orbit it. Himalia is Jupiter’s fifth largest moon. It is also the largest member of the Himalia satellite group, which is thought to be the remains of a large asteroid.
T-shirt is worked in two pieces, from the hem up. Front and back are worked separately, then seamed. Sleeves are worked as part of the body. Cables are used to shape the waist without increases or decreases.
Yarn: Sport weight 675, 800, 975 (1050, 1175, 1300, 1375) yards.
Model: Katia Austral; 153 yards in 50g; 50% wool, 50% acrylic; model to fit 40 in chest with zero in ease.
Needles: US 8 (5 mm), or size required for gauge, and US 7 (4.5 mm) for ribbing.
Gauge: 24 sts and 24 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in pattern stitch, blocked.
Finished size: zero ease: 28, 32, 36 (40, 44, 48, 52) in; 71.1, 81.3, 91.4 (101.6, 111.8, 121.9, 132.1) cm.
Difficulty: Intermediate.
Skills: k2tog, ssk, make 1, left- and right-leaning 2x2 (4-stitch) cables, long-tail cast on, cable cast on.
