Honeycomb Cowl
I designed this cowl by using double-sided pattern “Honeycomb”.
The cowl has a central body section enclosed in left and right borders.
Borders are worked at the same time as the body section.
After the cowl is completed and blocked (if blocking is necessary {depends on selected yarn} ), stitches from the top of the cowl are grafted together with the cast-on stitches using grafting method.
When working the cowl, use different colored stitch markers to indicate whether you are on right-side or wrong-side rows.
How wonderful in the winter frosty day have a little honey with tea!
stitches used: knit, yarn over, knit 2 together, purl 2 together; blank squares of the chart representing knit stitches on both right-side and wrong-side
techniques used: provisional method Cast-On; Russian Bind-Off; Russian Grafting method;
Russian style points (teeth) used.
Honeycomb - Wonderwork of Nature!
Honeycomb - a structure of hexagonal cells of wax, made by bees to store honey and eggs.
Note: The structure of the honeycombs having the shape of regular hexagons provides them with a sufficiently high strength with minimal wall thickness and is optimal for storing honey: hexagonal honeycombs contain more honey than would be possible to store three or four-cornered ones made from the same amount of wax.
