A playful colorwork hat with horses and snowflakes

Yarn:

135 yards of fingering weight yarn in main color (MC) 135 yards of fingering weight yarn in contrast color (CC)

You will need approximately 145 yards in contrast color if you choose to make the optional pompom.

Pictured in Fleece and Harmony Wildwinds 2 ply in Cranberry (BC) and Natural Grey (CC)

Needles:

3.0 mm, 16” circular needle and 3.0mm double pointed needles

Or sizes necessary to achieve gauge. Please be sure to knit a gauge swatch.

Gauge:

29 sts x 31 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stranded colorwork when blocked.

Finished size

Hat is 8.5” (23cm) in height and 20” (48cm)in circumference but will comfortably fit a 22” (56cm) circumference head size.
