Wanting a nice and cozy hat to wear to your next yarn festival? The Hyde Park hat is a perfect, lightweight hat to take along with you. Inspired by the town, Hyde Park, that is just ten minutes outside of Rhinebeck. I stayed there for my first year of the New York Sheep and Wool Festival (Rhinebeck) with my mom, and the drive to and from the town was simply magical. The entire time we were on that winding road, I wanted something soft and squishy against my ears.

Hat is constructed in the round, starting from the bottom up. Don’t let the bobble section fool you; it is a very easy construction, and the pattern would be perfect for an intermediate level. If you are getting past your beginner stage of knitting, this would help you learn some fun new stitches, and play around with mohair.
Design calls for fingering weight held double with a lace weight, for a marling effect. I used mohair so that I could have that soft and squishy feel against my head. Pattern can also be worked up in sport weight, as long as the gauge is met. Also, knitting for children? Try knitting it in just fingering weight! Pattern was slightly too small for my head in just fingering weight, but would work great for children!
