Sometimes, Los Angeles has the most magnificent snowfall and you see, all at once - palm trees, suburbs, skyscrapers, and snow-capped mountains!
This is a pattern for a knitted beanie, with a bit of slouch, worked from the bottom up and in the round, using the stranded knitting technique.
yarn:
2 Ply Jumper Weight by, Jamieson & Smith
Fingering; 100% Shetland; 125yds (115m)/25g
approx. yarn amounts:
MC (9113) - 33g; 165yds (152m)
CC1 (1280) - 9g; 45yds (42m)
CC2 (72) - 4g; 20yds (19m)
needles:
2.75mm (us no 2) circular or DPNs
3.25mm (us no 3) circular, 16in/41cm and DPNs 6in/15cm
Some knitters work stranded and one-coloured at different gauges. Change needles as needed to keep gauge the same throughout.
gauge:
28 sts x 32 rows = 4in/10cm measured over stranded stockinette on larger needles
approximate finished size:
one size fits most; 21-25 in/53cm-63.5 cm head
