In The Dunes Wrap
This is the fourth Shawl of The Shawl Society Season 4
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
There’s a certain moment. After the swimming, the clambering over rocks and the delving into pools, after the picnic lunch and the epic sandcastle construction, everything just seems to slow down. Drowsy in the sun, lulled by the endless shush of the waves, contentment settles in.
You could almost fall asleep, but there is so much more beautiful day still to enjoy. The wind is in the dunes, and the grasses are whispering. The gentle breeze is just enough, and the invitation is irresistible.
Time for a quiet walk among the dunes. You keep carefully to the paths, thinking of the birds in the sandbanks, the great plumes of beachgrass, and the countless hardy little plants and creatures who have found a home in these windswept hills. The waves and flow of the landscape, the soothing sounds, and the soft, crisp, clean air seem to breathe for you, and with you.
There is no better place to just be.
In The Dunes is our fourth shawl this season. It is a light and airy asymmetrical rectangle with flowing stripes of lace, the perfect wrap for a breezy afternoon or evening. The lace stitches look delicate and detailed but are intuitive and relaxed. A lovely knit to savour in quiet moments.
