Choose your Island, cast on and cast away for a little Island Hopping!
Originally designed as a kit for Purlescence, Island Hopping is a crescent shaped shawl worked, from the top down, in three skeins of yarn; two skeins of Fyberspates Scrumptious 4ply (100g each) and one of Fyberspates Faery Wings (50g). The shawl starts and ends using Yarn A, Yarn B is a highlight or pop of colour and Yarn C is a complimentary texture.
Island Hopping is a versatile pattern with a main body that can be worked up to five times to tailor the shawl to your requirements. The stripe and lace panel can be worked either once or twice to suit. The pattern is written as the largest version that can be achieved from the three skeins of yarn. The original used around 90% of each skein.
You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer or colour bead placement and aspects of the pattern in coloured pencils.
The pattern is both fully written and charted throughout.
If you like my designs please join us in the Boo Group where you will find a place to discuss my patterns, show off your knitting and hear about KALs and MKALs.
Patterns already set up by KnitCompanion can be purchased, in the KnitCompanion Store, for knitters who like to use KnitCompanion, but prefer to have their charts already set up.
