Techniques
Knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing, stranded colorwork

These are two patterns, one is for a cowl, one is for a hat. Both are worked in the round and using the Fair-Isle knitting technique.
Make sure there this enough contrast between your two shades!
Take a black and white photo of them to see if their colour value is different enough for the pattern to show clearly.
