Khel (Child) Contiguous Cardigan
’Khel’ is hindi for ‘Play’ as in Kids love to play. This design is a result of my playing with this new technique for knitting set-in sleeves.
I have probably tried all the different approaches to knitting a sweater seamlessly. So naturally when I came across the contiguous sleeve method developed by Susie Meyers I had to try it. This method allows you to knit a sleeve seamlessly together with the body and is very close to set in sleeve shaping. This is my first published attempt at encouraging more knitters to try out the method. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Sample shown is a short-sleeved version knit using three colors of Lion Brand Cotton-Ease from my stash. The sweater has approx. 4”(10cm) ease worked into the calculations.
Highlights of the design:
- Knit from top-down
- Completely seamless and knit in one-piece
- Contiguous set-in sleeve method worked at the same time as neck shaping
- Simultaneous cast on using two methods
