The Kids Pomtop (a name coined by my niece) is crocheted in a ribbed pattern for extra warmth. The hat is long enough to fold a cuff and they have the puffiest pompom on top!

This hat is worked in a panel. The ribbing will run horizontal as you crochet, but then will run vertical after assembling. In other words, what starts as the left and right sides of the panel will become the top and bottom of the hat! You are using half-double and single crochets worked into the back loop to create the rib.
