If you love New Zealand, you will love the Kiwi Bird!

This PDF crochet pattern describes in US terminology (amigurumi style) how to crochet an adorable Kiwi Bird, as shown in pictures. Instructions for the bush hat and fern are also included.
Finished size will be approx. 6,7” (17 cm) tall, crocheted using sport weight cotton yarn and crochet hook size C (2.5 mm). SMC Catania Solids was used to create the birds in the pictures. This pattern is also suitable for wool or acrylic yarn.

If you wish to make a larger or smaller version of this bird, you can just use thicker or thinner yarn, with a matching size crochet hook. If so, you will need different amounts of yarn and different size safety eyes than stated in the materials list. All parts in this pattern will be worked in continuous rounds.

The crochet pattern is available as instant download in the following languages:

  • English (US terms)
  • Dutch (Nederlands)
