Kraken Cowl (crochet)
This is the crochet version of this pattern. For the knit version, please CLICK HERE.
Who doesn’t love a good legend? The Kraken Cowl is inspired by old illustrations of the mysterious eight-armed sea monster that brought ruin to many a sailor. Now the Kraken has jumped from page to crochet hook and is eager to wrap its tentacles around your neck… and bring you warmth and coziness!
This single-sided stranded colorwork cowl is worked in the round using two colors. Four decorative border options are included within the pattern.
TECHNIQUES UTILIZED
This pattern is worked with stranded colorwork, where floats are caught every few stitches at the back your work. Other unique techniques utilized in this pattern include:
Split Single Crochet (Waistcoat Stitch) - Used for the colorwork chart, gives the appearance of knitted fabric
Front and Back Post Double Crochet - Used for top and bottom hem, gives the appearance of ribbing
