Krissy Mittens
Krissy Mitten are named after a pair of reindeer mittens I loved when I was 5 years old and everyone called me Krissy. I went sledding with a friend and her family, and while sledding, I got a bit scared, and put my hand out to slow my sled down and my beloved mitten flew off into the deep snow. I tried to find my mittens by climbing up the steep toboggan run, but it was snowing, and my beloved was lost in the deep snow. I dreamed about those mittens for years, so I designed 4 different sizes of this mitten, if your little one is as crazy about these mittens as I was, you can knit them new ones when they outgrow them (or loose one). These happy mittens are knit in the round with double pointed needles. They are have traditional Norwegian mitten construction. The Gusset is knit by adding stitches where indicated on chart, then stitches for Thumb are placed on a holder. Next palm stitches are cast on to form the thumb hole and then you can continue on knitting the mitten in the round. The top of the mitten is shaped by decreasing stitches as indicated on the chart. Knit an I-cord for the littlest mittens to keep the mittens together and safe and sound.
