This is a one skein pattern, but can be increased easily. Results may vary depending on yardage of yarn choice. The pattern is laid out to use as much of your gorgeous skein as possible.

Pattern Premise:
It is that time of year when people are thinking about spring and gardens and planting and pretty flowers. Anything to offset the cold and the wind and the snow and ice in some parts of our hemisphere.

When I was little, I had a favorite nursery rhyme that I would drive my siblings nuts with all the time. While there are a few variations of it, this is the one I like the best.

“Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
With lady bells all in a row.”

It’s that last line variation that gets me. I am OCD and I love it when everything has a place and is in it, which is why in some instances I’m great at planting and in others you do not want me involved.

Because everyone has a different vision for what they want in their garden each year, this pattern has two things going for it. It works great with variegated and strong tonal yarns and can be worked up in a variety of yarn weights. Need something heavy for those still cold nights? Go with a DK or a worsted weight. Looking for something light and airy for those lovely spring nights? Go with a fine fingering weight.
