This hat starts at the crown of the lining using smaller needle with fingering and mohair yarn held together. Once lining is completed, switch to larger needle and a Vikkel Braid is worked using the main color then the outside of the hat is completed working from the bottom up. It is important to weave in ends as you go with this technique because you will no longer be able to access the wrong side of your work once you complete the crown shaping for the right side of the work. The final end can be worked in using duplicate stitch.
