This oversized sweater is worked from the top down, sleeve edge to sleeve edge in Stockinette and Sand Stitch. Techniques used: invisible (provisional) cast on, short rows, picking up stitches, 3 needle bind off, k2tog, SSK, and working in the round.

I would rate this as a pattern for at least an intermediate knitter.
