This pattern has been in my family for generations, passed on by great-grandmother to my aunt and then finally to me. Unfortunately it’s not possible to know now where or when it was first knitted. The final piece is a timeless raglan cardigan, all in stockinette with cuffs, collar, buttonband and hem in garter stitch. The pattern is easy to adapt and hack, all you have to do is let your imagination fly!

MATERIALS

Yarn: Sport weight baby yarn 320 (410, 455, 525, 585, 700, 800, 960, 1000)m 350 (450, 500, 575, 640, 760, 880, 1050, 1100) yds picture features Charme Círculo 100% mercerized cotton in colorway Branco 8176

Needles: 3.50 mm (4 US) circular needles with cable long enough for magic loop/dpn’s, or size needed to obtain gauge

Other notions: stitch markers, 4 buttons (~1cm diameter), tapestry needles, scissors
