Louis the Frog Prince
Louis the Frog Prince is the first design in my Fantasy Land collection – using bright, happy colours and with a wide smile, he is sure to bring a lot of joy!
This pattern is an easy design and uses US terminology. A knowledge of how to crochet is essential as it does not teach you how to crochet, it simply provides instructions for you to make the toy.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Louis is approx. 14cm tall (5.5 inches).
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > 25g of GREEN and RED, less than 10g of BLUE, BROWN, WHITE and GOLD
- BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- I’ve used the following yarns: o GREEN = Ricorumi DK cotton by Rico Design in col. 047 o RED = Ricorumi DK cotton by Rico Design in col. 028 o BLUE = Ricorumi DK cotton by Rico Design in col. 032 o BROWN = Ricorumi DK cotton by Rico Design in col. 073 o WHITE = Ricorumi DK cotton by Rico Design in col. 001 o GOLD = Ricorumi Lame Gold in col. 002
