This chevron pattern brings a poncho/pelerine/shawl in attractive form of a stylized maple five-finger shaped leaf, with big Victorian hood. It’s a wide, comfortable poncho, one size fits to all. Pattern is written in English (no chart), stitch by stitch, row by row, with photo and video tutorials. Suitable for advanced beginner in knitting to make your own poncho in an easy and effective way.

You need :

1. Skills: Advanced beginner / Intermediate knitting knowledge;
2. Needles:
* A set of circular needles in US 11/8mm with a minim. cord of 46”-48” (115-120cm). If you need a smaller size, for girl 7-10
years, use needles in US 6-8 / 4-5mm;
* An auxiliary hook (3,5-4mm) and tapestry needle for weave in ends;
3. Yarns – Worsted, Aran weight yarn, in favorite color (solid, colorful, self-striping…).
Shown poncho is made with approx. 8 balls of Alize Burcum Batik (colorful, self-striping, budget friendly, quality acrylic
wool-free) yarn; 1 ball = 100g (3.53 ounces) / 210m or 230yds.
In total ~800 gr/~1.680m or 1.840 yds.
You can also combine different thickness and spin of yarn (homemade, hand-dyed, handspun yarn); it will look more artistic, rustic and unique.
4. 11 stitch markers;
5. Optional 3 sets of wooden toggle closures (or make your own closures).
