The body and sleeves are worked from the bottom up, in the round to the underarms. The shoulders are seamed, and the sleeves sewn in. Because the garment is fairly heavy, the seams are required to help the garment hold its shape; I do not recommend grafting the shoulders or working the sleeves from the top down.
