Just like the adult hoodie version (Freya Hoodie Sweater)1 this design is named after the goddess Freya whom the Vikings worshiped as the goddess of Love and Beauty, but also as a warrior goddess and one of great wisdom and magic. The slip-stitch pattern of the hoodie is reminiscent of a Nordic wood carving design that may have been used by Vikings.

Its construction is from the top-down with raglan sleeves. Because of this construction, the hoodie is easily customizable and notes to help adjust the pattern are included throughout the instructions.
