The two sided effect from double knitting, paired with the bias direction and garter boarders give this an overall unique construction. Note: Interchangeable needles are recommended, as they allow you to use cords as lifelines or to place them. Even advanced knitters can get into trouble seeing the a dropped stitch in the furry side. Using certain IC needles, you can strand a DKish weight yarn for a lifeline or for all of them, you can simply remove a tip, place a cap, place tip on a new cord with a cap, knit the row, replace other tip with cap and your lifeline is in place, then remove cap on new cord and replace with tip and keep on knitting!
