My First Felted Tote
This simple bag turns heads. It could also be called the ”Baby Bear Bag“ because it is ”just right.” Just the right size to take lunch to work or carry a knitting project, just right for embellishing, just right to garner compliments wherever you go!
Skill: Intermediate. Techniques include knitting in the round, picking up stitches and I-Cord bind-off.
Size: Felted dimension is approximately 11”/28 cm wide by 9”/23 cm tall by 4 ½“ /11 cm deep.
Approximate size before felting: 20”/51 cm wide and 20”/51 cm tall and 6”/15 cm deep.
Straps felt from 36”/92 cm to 23”/58 cm (measurement excludes tab).
Yarn: Worsted weight feltable wool: 380 yards/347 meters Main
Color, plus 125 yards/114 meters Contrasting Color (11 wpi).
Model used Stonehedge Fiber Mill’s Shepherd’s Wool.
Needles and notions: US Size 10.5 (6.5 mm) circular needles 24”
(60 cm) long and double-pointed needles; stitch markers; tapestry
needle for weaving in ends.
