Nasoloda
Nasoloda means delight in Ukrainian and this cowl is a pure joy to make to the last stitch.
It is worked in a modified version of the linen (seed) stitch – both the main part and the ribbing. Just a few stitches worked in an unusual way change the look of this well-known stitch pattern to create an amazing texture and eye-catching colorwork.
Experiment with the number of colors used as well as the sequence of the color rows to create a multitude of unique cowls!
MATERIALS
- Yarn: Malabrigo Rios; worsted weight; 210 yards / 192 m per 100 g skein; 100% Superwash Merino Wool
- Hook: US size I-9 (5.5 mm) for main part and H-8 (5 mm) for ribbing
- Yarn needle to weave in ends
YARDAGE
One skein each in shades 036 Pearl (MC) and 280 Gemini (CC)
GAUGE
17 sts x 15 rows = 4’’ x 4’’ (10 cm x 10 cm) in st patt
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
25’’ (63.5 cm) in circumference, 10½’’ (27 cm) tall
The pattern is written for one size. You can make your cowl longer by working more row PRs and wider by working more st PRs (the st count should be a multiple of 4).
