Nemophila Cowl
This loose, lacy cowl, with a pretty circular stitch pattern formed by working a combination of lace stitches and 1/1 crosses, is perfect for spring. It’s named after a California wildflower, Nemophila menziesii, or Baby Blue Eyes.
Stitch patterns are both charted and written out.
It’s easy to change the size. To increase or decrease the circumference, add or decrease 2 edging repeats per main body repeat.
Note: As of 3/21/15, an additional version with top and bottom lace edging is available & is included as a separate pattern.
Pattern Notes
The edging is worked first. If you choose not to do a provisional cast on, rather than grafting the two ends together you can just sew the two ends together.
Directions are included for omitting the edging and working a garter stitch border instead.
The main body stitch pattern is stitch pattern #18 from Annie Maloney’s Stitch Definition, adapted to be worked in the round.
