This beautiful silk yarn with a sparkly thread doesn’t need any fancy stitches to make a beautiful shawl. A garter crescent with some elongated stitches gives you a good size even from one skein of yarn, and the stockinette ruffle adds a bit of playfulness to it.

Materials:

4 mm/US 6 knitting needles, I used a 100cm/40” circular needle

Fingering weight yarn, 430 m/470 yds

Sample: Expression Fiber Arts Sparkle Silk Fingering, colourway Bahamas, 433 m/473.5 yds

Optional: removable stitch marker to mark right side of the garter stitch section

Gauge:

20 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm/4” in garter stitch after blocking

Gauge is not crucial here, but it might affect the size of your finished shawl and how much yarn you need.
