This shawl is not a classical Haapsalu shawl - the construction is a little unusual, it’s bottom-up and crescent shaped. This kind of shape is not so long at the back but still covers the upper body.

This design has two options for size - middle size (M) and bigger (L). For sample (red shawl, size M) I used 47 g fine lace yarn and the measurements are 164x57 cm.

In this shawl there are also some nupps, size M there are 680 and size L 806 nupps.

In this pattern gauge isn’t so important, but You could swatch the Body Lace pattern to make sure the lace won’t be too loose. The swatch of the Body Lace pattern gives gauge for 10 cm - 23 st and 27 rows.

This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters.

The shawl starts with a knitted cast on from the lower edge and is knit to the centre of the neck.
