Olympic National Park Shawl
I’ve only been to Olympic National Park once, but there are two things I remember vividly. One was how beautiful the forest was when we walked through, it was so beautifully green that the leaves and everything seemed to almost glow. The second thing I remember was a lake my family and I had decided to try fishing in. The water was such a clear blue-green that you could see down to the bottom of the lake 50 feet out. We didn’t catch any fish, but it sure was beautiful.
This shawl is designed to create a knitted forest using cabling and lace. When I thought of this design, I just had to use this beautiful blue-green colorway reminiscent of the waters there.
The Olympic National Park shawl is the fourth in my VBM Shawl Collection 2, which is inspired by U.S. National Parks. It is available for individual purchase or as part of the collection, more info here. All patterns in the collection come with both written and charted instructions.
ERRATA Note: In Chart 3B, row 5, stitch 92 read ssk not ptbl.
