Pangaean Waves
This shawl was inspired by the yarn. The silky flowing drape of it, along with the name of the colourway used (Grand Canyon) made me think of the “waves” of layered rock that can be seen at this natural wonder.
Fully adjustable, this shawl is knit from side to side, increasing along one edge, until you have used ALMOST half your yarn, then decreases at the same rate, allowing you to make the most of your favorite yarn.
The sample shown in the photos was knit with just one skein of Tobermory, with five “waves” in the body of the shawl. If you have a smaller yardage, you can make a fancy little scarf, or if you have a bit more yardage, you can made a beach wrap!
ERRATA: Row 3 of the written instructions for Chart D should read “P5, (YOP) five times, P1.”
