While this pattern only uses 2 stitches (sc and dc), because you are working in alternating front and back loops, and because you crochet the horizontal (main portion) of the bag around the vertical strips, I would classify this bag as intermediate to advance level. The horizontal portion is crocheted in front of and behind the vertical strips, essentially “weaving” your crochet.

You will need 10 oz/510 yards of your main colour and 5 oz/260 yards.

Gauge isn’t important, but if you are a “looser” crocheter, you will use more yarn.

I used 1 large skein (14 oz/400 g of the solid colour and 12 oz/340 g of the ombre/variegated colour) of each of my main colour (sage) and my contrasting colour (damask).
