Patinage Gloves
“Patinage” is French for “skating”. This design was inspired by a figure skating friend who needed a pair of cozy yet classy gloves to wear during skating exercises. The cable panel ebbs and flows like a fluid figure eight, and the right glove is a mirror of the left. The pattern as written is primarily intended to be worn as gloves; however, clear instructions are provided to make these simple fingerless mitts.
Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light is recommended, yet any fingering weight yarn that meets gauge can easily be substituted.
Other materials needed: stitch markers, waste yarn, tapestry needle
Difficulty: Intermediate - cables, increases, working in the round. An adventurous beginner may find these a delightful and confidence-building step up to increase experience.
