Pearl the mermaid doll is knitted in stockinette stitch and made from four pieces (body, 2 arms and a bikini) and seamed together. The hair is made from lengths of White yarn that are each knotted onto the top of the head after making up. You could use a smaller needle size and DK yarn with this pattern to make a smaller doll.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, Pearl is knitted in acrylic aran yarns (worsted/10 ply) on single pointed needles (not in the round).

A pair of 4.5mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 7).

Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran 100% Acrylic; up to 30g in each shade.

Tapestry needle, toy filling, and buttons for eyes

One size only - 25cm tall.

For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
