This pattern is named for my daughter, who can be seen modelling the smallest size.

Matching hats and fingerless or full mittens with a simple colourwork motif, worked in supersoft lambswool spun in Scotland. You can use as many colours as you want, if you use three colours then you can get the largest size of both the hat and the full mittens with one 50g (205m) hank of each colour. The hat can be knit slouchy or as a beanie. The colourwork motif and the thumb gusset are charted, the rest of the instructions are written.

Sizes: Child, Small adult/teen, adult
Mitts - to fit hand circumference approx 16cm/6”, 17cm/6.5”, 19cm/7.5cm
Hat: to fit head approx 50cm/19”, 53cm/21”, 58cm/23”

Both hat and mittens are worked in the round from the cuff up using stranded colourwork.

The adult set are shown in Gorse, Scots Pine and Lichen. The child’s set are shown in Seaweed, Thistle, Gorse, Fairy Pool and Thrift. All sizes use less than one hank of each colour.
