Piper Beret is worked in the round on a circular needle, changing to double pointed needles as necessary and using simple knitting only with shaping easy enough for a new knitter. Worsted or DK weight yarns work or you may try substituting a bulky yarn.
This beret is a bit smaller in general than the previously offered AMY BERET by Lisa Cruse and is brilliant for stash-busting and gifts for guys or gals, tots, teens and the totally sophisticated adult.
Another blank canvas, this pattern allows you to design as you wish. Toss in a few stripes or embellish the fulled and finished product to your heart’s content.
The fabric is firmly fulled (felted) to fit the wearer and becomes a super foundation for your creativity whether needle felting, embroidering, beading, bows, buttons or just adding a pin for personality.
This is an adaptation of the Amy pattern and includes photos as shown at left. Second photo is a suggestion for embellishment, embroidery pattern is not included.
