Pippi the Party Kitty
Pippi the Party Kitty is a small bundle of fun! A free pattern to celebrate reaching 4,000 followers on my Instagram page. She is a quick, cute make and is ready to celebrate!
I made her using 4ply cotton stash yarns but you are welcome to make her in any size or colour combination.
Difficulty: Easy, US terminology
A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
When changing colour, yarn over the new colour and pull through on the stitch prior.
For this pattern, the following yarns were used:
o GREY = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “818 Glacier”
o BEIGE = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “816 Parchment”
o BLUE = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “808 Arctic”
o PINK = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “805 Pink Rose”
o MINT = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in “024 Mint”
I use a 2.5mm hook with 4 ply yarn but everyone differs. Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
The yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item. My Pippi the Party Kitty is approximately 13cm tall (5 inches).
I have used plastic safety eyes for this pattern but you may choose to embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
