Posy the Poodle
Posy is a classic, elegant and pretty-in-pink Poodle! She loves candy, long walks and mostly companionship. Make her in blue and she is equally adorable!
Posy is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Posy is approx. 15cm tall (6 inches).
You will need:
- 2.5mm and 2.75mm hooks/C-2 (US)
- 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > 50g of PINK and BLUSH, small amounts of CREAM and LILAC
- A pair of 7.5mm safety eyes
- BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight. When using BLUSH and LILAC, I’ve moved up a hook size to a 2.75mm.
- I’ve used the following yarns: o PINK = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 008 o BLUSH = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 009 o CREAM = Creative Cotton DK by Rico Design in col. 002 o LILAC = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 442 Dusty Rose
